About this Site

Welcome to AZCARtraining.com, which was established to support the D-ENG broadcast operations training provided by AZCAR as part of the Sprint Nextel BAS re-banding activity. The Distance Learning portion of the service, formerly carried on Galaxy 19, was discontinued as of 31 December 2009 (see News, below right). Information on this site, such as the FAQ’s and Document Library, may still be beneficial to recent trainees. Sprint Nextel and AZCAR have therefore committed to maintaining this site through June 2010.

Over the course of the training program, beginning March 1, 2007, the three instructors at AZCAR Training Systems – backed by a staff of production professionals and program coordinators – trained more than 10,000 technicians and operators at hundreds of television facilities across the United States, including Guam and Puerto Rico. The breadth, scope, and aggressive timeline of this workforce retraining initiative are unprecedented in the broadcasting industry. The staff of AZCAR Training Systems extends its gratitude to the vendors and participants who made the program a success, and to Sprint Nextel Communications for making it possible.

AZCAR Training Systems is a business unit of AZCAR Technologies Incorporated. AZCAR is a public company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange using the symbol AZZ.

Ground-breaking D-ENG training project concludes   -  Friday, January 01, 2010 - PITTSBURGH: The end of 2009 also marked the end of 34 consecutive months of satellite-delivered, live, interactive training in Digital ENG operations, provided by AZCAR Training Systems. Providing this training was part of Sprint Nextel’s obligations to TV broadcasters and other users affected by relocation of Broadcast Auxiliary Services in the 2 GHz microwave band. Although the training sessions have ended, the supporting information on this web site will continue to be available to registered users through June 2010. Affected broadcasters needing additional training resources can obtain supporting materials in print and on DVD through their Sprint Nextel representatives.
